Baby Steps.

Yeahhhhh, you've completed the cleanse--well done!

This week, the focus is on baby steps. It's the small things that you do each day that will have a big impact on your health and wellness. Go through the habits and attitudes section this week and record the changes that you will implement in your life.

While I didn't totally meet my rather ambitious Week 2 goals, I felt good about the fact that when I ate out twice, I ate only a portion of my meal and took the rest home and each doggie bag covered three more meals.

Great job Sheila. You didn't have to cook for 3 meals. That's a huge time saver too!

I'm happy with my baby steps this week. I piled the vegetables on plate at Thanksgiving Dinner!! Usually vegetables just take up unnecessary space on the plate.I also took the time and chewed slowly and thoroughly enjoyed every bit. I was surprised at how quickly I actually got full. I also kept a big bottle of water by my side all evening.

I just wanted to share my Isagenix cleansing experience. I am a firm believer in cleansing the body internally. I have been cleansing for about 15 years now and have tried all kinds of programs. The easiest and most effective one to date has been the Isagenix program. This is a great program that had me releasing 6 pounds and 12/5 inches all around on my petite frame. I wasn't particularly looking for weight loss but it was a nice side benefit. I felt light and very energized. I loved the mental clarity and focus. I went on a cleaning binge and rearranged furniture too! It was a good program for having me strengthen my good habits like water drinking, smaller and more nutrient dense meals, cutting out coffee and all the little things that I didn't always acknowledge I was actually eating. I experienced a higher level of awareness and was pleased with my discipline and commitment to myself. In this day and age with all the environmental concerns that affect our food, air and water, it's good to know that there is a way for us to protect our body's at the cellular level from the damage that can occur when all these impurities build up. If you haven't tried a cleanse before, consider the Isagenix. You will be giving your liver, kidney, colon, blood and lymphatics a chance to function better by clearing the impurities from your body and thus maintaining your health and vitality in the process.

The cleanse was tough. Very tough and I didn't do it as I should have. Working on week 3 is taking me two weeks. Any words of wisdom would be great. Thanks

I'm on my last day of my 11 day Isagenics cleanse, i found around day 7 and 8 really, really tough. However, one thing I noticed was that it is very important to time the food perfectly and to drink the water. I second you missed a snack or even late eating an hour for any meal, it made it hard to stick to it. Ironically, I found the all liquid days to be much easier then when eating the sensible meal...i guess I definately learned that eating 4-6 times a day regularily with just some minor food choice adjustments, helps you keep on track...staying on the course definately pays off in the long run...and it's easy to avoid tough situations if you can antticipate them...it's a new way of thinking that I'm getting use to, but I'm making some head way...good luck everyone!

Hi Tracy,(sorry I've been off travelling)don't worry about not completing one topic in a week -- sometimes life just gets in the way! Think of it as Topic 3 (rather than "Week 3")it's about Baby Steps...think about the successes you've achieved (however small) and positive choices you made and feel good about those. Many of us tend to jump into a new program with both feet and an "all or nothing" attitude but it takes time to change our habits and old way of thinking -- so remember, celebrate the Baby Steps!

well I am still on the Isagenix and have done really well (althoug I sucked on a mint candy yesterday). I tend to fight hunger most days and nights.

Today I had to get real creative with my food as i needed to grocery shop. As a result I ended up bringing 3 seperate things to cover off all the food categories and I am now totally full for the first time. i don't know what is going to happen once the cleanse is over...

p.s

I am craving a cup of coffee so bad...

amuna b 05.12.2007 - 08:15 010
nancy, i get that coffee thing. they always have a pot brewing here at work, so it's always in my focus. i'm always talking to myself and keeping that pot of coffee out of my path. i had cheesies left over from my daughter's birthday party. i took that bag and brought it to work to give it to the other staff, cuz it was too hard to have it in my home. and after passing it all day, i finally gave in and had 5 cheesies. but 5 cheesies is way less than the 100 i wanted and would have had if that bag had stayed at home. i'm seeing changes in behaviour. learning it's okay to say no.

Nancy B 05.12.2007 - 12:21 011
wow muna, I was suppose to take the bag home for my little sister and forgot it. 5 cheesies is amazing!!! good for you, AND you did not let that ruin your day or make it a right off, you just picked up and went on, so...here, here girl!!!

I am learning as i continue to walk this journey and can even say that i am starting to get a bit more comfortable with the path.

Cathy M. 10.12.2007 - 15:46 012
great job amuna and nancy, celebrate those victories-- Im not sure that i could just eat 5 cheesies- that is amazing within itself !! It's good to know your weaknesses-- some things I can have in the house and not touch it and some things I refuse to buy cuz i will eat the whole bag ( cheesies are one of them)

regarding the coffee cravings
celestial teas have a vanilla hazlenut and a english toffee that sometimes hit the spot- you can get them at any grocery store.

This week was really tough. I thought the Brown Rice Cleanse would have been the tougher week but Week 3 has been really tough. I guess it was tough for me because I put alot of pressure on myself to achieve everything I want to achieve for my health within the 12 weeks of the program, which basically went against what this week was about - Baby Steps.

If I look at it in terms of Baby Steps, I had a really good week - I've continued eating sensibly and cut my portions significantly. I've also started to use the stairs at work again and leave out the elevator. I'm finding it easier to leave out unhealthy snacks during the day and eat smaller portions in general.

The tough part though is finding foods to eat - creating a meal plan was really difficult and I haven't even completed it because i find it so much easier to just drink water and snack on healthy foods that I've skipped a couple meals - which I know in the long run won't be good for my health. The exercise part has been good - though challenging I've been able to maintain a pretty good exercise routine. Overall I think I've had a good 3rd week when I think of the baby steps I've made towards living healthy for the rest of my life. I must admit that I do feel a bit pressured to do as much as I can within the 12 weeks.
